The international sports platform Setka Cup has summed up the interim results of 2021. The total number of Setka Cup’s matches of the first half of 2021 has doubled compared to the same period in the previous year. The opening of new sports locations and the launch of new disciplines were the main reasons for this growth.
From January to June 2020, the platform hosted 22,500 sporting events. This figure for the same period in 2021 doubled and amounted to 42,281 matches. Despite the return of major sports tournaments, including the UEFA European football championship, in June 2021, the Setka Cup played a significant number of matches — 7,500 games per month (250 games per day).
One of the two decisive factors behind this significant increase was the launch of new sports locations. In May, the last one started operating in Prague (Czech Republic) and holds approximately one thousand matches per month. Such positive dynamics expand the tournaments’ sports community, mainly in Ukraine, where the Setka Cup already has 9 sports arenas in the 3 largest cities.
2021 is a productive year for the Setka Cup. For instance, the number of athletes participating in Setka Cup tournaments has increased by 20% since January 2021. The platform comprises 780 active players, 600 of them regularly participate in table tennis tournaments in Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Jindrich Pansky, the double silver medalist of the world championship and participant of the Olympic Games, also competes in Setka Cup’s tournaments in Prague. The Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation has 1,868 active players (18-55 years old). One in three registered athletes participates in Seka Cup tournaments.
Recently, the Setka Cup became a partner of the Prague Table Tennis Association. It is an official recognition on the international level, and now the Setka Cup will support table tennis development in the EU. As part of its partnership with the Association, the platform plans to organize sporting events that will promote table tennis in Prague.
The second factor that influenced the increased activity of the platform was the launch of new sports. Setka Cup tournaments now include table tennis, tennis, and beach volleyball. Beach volleyball competitions were launched in June 2021. And today, the platform holds 16 matches of this discipline every day.
